In the Bodrum district of Muğla, the lifeless bodies of a father and his daughter were found 5 days after the jet ski they were on, along with 4 people from the same Iraqi family, capsized. The other daughter of the family had previously been found dead in the same area.
A father and his two daughters lost their lives, and the mother was rescued after the jet ski of an Iraqi family capsized in the Bodrum district of Muğla.
FATHER AND TWO DAUGHTERS MISSING
The incident occurred around 05:30 on July 15 off the Akyarlar area. The jet ski, carrying four members of the same family, including two children, capsized due to strong waves and adverse weather conditions. After a report from nearby sailors, Coast Guard teams were dispatched to the area. The Iraqi mother on the jet ski was rescued alive from the sea by the crew of a nearby motor yacht during the incident. However, the father and his two daughters went missing at sea.
BODIES FOUND DAYS LATER
Search and rescue operations were launched by Coast Guard teams from sea and air. During the ongoing efforts, on July 16, a motionless girl was spotted on the water surface off the coast of Kos Island, Greece, by passengers on a ferry traveling between Bodrum and Kos, and reported to the Greek Coast Guard. An examination revealed that the deceased young girl was one of the children missing from the jet ski accident.
The bodies of the missing father and daughter were also reached today. It was learned that the bodies of the father and daughter were found off the coast of Kos Island by Greek security forces.
