As protests intensified in France, moments of motorcycles and televisions being looted were captured on video. The Interior Minister admitted a loss of control. Macron emphasized that criminals would be brought to justice. Trump, meanwhile, described France as ungovernable.

During protests that continued throughout the weekend in France, moments when demonstrators looted motorcycles and televisions were captured on camera. The Interior Minister admitted that police lost control in some cities and that the cities were left vulnerable.

Striking images shared regarding the incidents included moments when people dressed in black fled on motorcycles they had seized and masked looters carried large boxes full of electronic goods. It was reported that the atmosphere of anarchy escalated despite President Emmanuel Macron's calls for calm, and that protests and looting incidents also spread to Milan, Italy.

Macron's Call for Unity and Intelligence Admission

Addressing the nation after an emergency meeting with senior ministers, President Macron called for unity and stressed that everything necessary would be done to bring criminals to justice. The French leader, who acknowledged that an intelligence failure occurred in the process that resulted in the detention of approximately 2,400 people over the weekend, stated that all necessary lessons would be drawn from these events.

While most of the demonstrations, which began due to cost-of-living difficulties, education standards, and reactions to the Macron government, proceeded as peaceful gatherings, in some areas the incidents turned into acts of violence.

Trump: "The Country Has Become Ungovernable"

A statement also came from the United States regarding the chaos in France. US President Donald Trump claimed that "immigrants who harbor hatred within them" had made France an ungovernable country.
