3,041 private public buses affiliated with IETT, which have not received payment from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality for 4 months, will stop operating tomorrow. The decision was announced by Göksel Ovacık, the President of the Istanbul Private Public Buses Tradesmen's Chamber, who stated, "We were given a commitment. It was said that 500 million would be paid on the 15th of the month. However, when we reached the 15th of May, this amount was not paid."
The private public bus owners affiliated with İETT, who have been going through tough times due to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's failure to make payments for 4 months, have decided to go on strike.
3,041 PRIVATE PUBLIC BUSES WILL TURN OFF THEIR ENGINES
The President of the Istanbul Private Public Buses Tradesmen's Chamber, Göksel Ovacık, stated that 3,041 private public buses will turn off their engines tomorrow.

Ovacık stated in his announcement that they have not received any money for 4 months, saying, "As you know, we spent the 4th month without receiving any money. We were given a commitment. It was said that 500 million would be paid on the 15th. However, when we reached May 15th, this amount was not paid. They informed us that such an amount could not be paid based on the discussions we had."
THERE WILL BE CONGESTION IN PASSENGER TRAFFIC
With the decision of the public buses to go on strike, there will be congestion in passenger traffic during the morning and evening hours. It is expected that citizens will look for alternative routes, and there will also be congestion at metro and metrobüs stops.
