While asphalt was being laid on the road in Kağıthane, the dump truck's bed overturned and crashed into the balcony of the adjacent building. A person passing by the truck at the time narrowly escaped death by mere seconds. The incident, which caused great fear among the residents of the building, was captured on security cameras.
In Kağıthane, the dump truck that was laying asphalt on the road tipped over, crashing into the balcony of a nearby building. The moments of fear experienced by those in the building were captured by security cameras, while a person walking past the truck and heading to the side of the building narrowly escaped death. While there was material damage to the balcony of the apartment, the owner, Birgül Çiğdem, said, "They called me and said a truck had entered my house. It was such a terrible thing."
The incident occurred on Friday, January 10, around 1:30 PM in the Nurtepe neighborhood. According to the information obtained, the driver of the dump truck with license plate 34 GD 3783, which was filled with asphalt for road work, began to lift the dump bed. As the asphalt was being poured onto the road, the dump bed suddenly tipped over. The dump bed crashed into the balcony of the apartment located on the first floor of the three-story building.
NARROWLY ESCAPED DEATH
While there was material damage to the balcony of the apartment, the residents of the building panicked. The moments when the dump bed tipped over were captured second by second by security cameras. A person walking past the truck and heading to the side of the building narrowly escaped death as the dump bed tipped over. The individual, who walked under the balcony, was recorded by security cameras. After the accident, police and municipal teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. While the teams took administrative action against the driver, the municipal teams conducted an investigation regarding the damage to the balcony.
'THEY SAID A TRUCK ENTERED MY HOUSE'
Speaking about the incident, the owner Birgül Çiğdem said, "I was at work during the incident. While they were making a road in this side street, the truck started lifting the dump bed by itself. Since there is a slight bump here, it hits our balcony and the truck slides sideways. As it slides, it takes the balcony with it. Coincidentally, my aunt and my nephew were in the building. They were very scared and called me. They said a truck had entered my house. It was such a terrible thing. When I arrived, the police were already there. They did what was necessary. They said they would take care of it and wrote a report. As long as they take care of it, there is no problem. If they don't, we will file a complaint; we have six months. No one was harmed. Of course, my nephew and aunt were very scared; they didn't let us inside for a while. It was quite bad. I cleaned until the evening, and they also cut the marble here," she said.
