The actor, theater and voice artist Sezai Altekin, who voiced characters such as 'Şirin Baba', 'Bugs Bunny', and 'Barni Moloztaş', passed away in the Bodrum district of Muğla. Altekin, who died of heart failure, was bid farewell on his final journey by a handful of people at his funeral.
Sezai Altekin, who retired from the Istanbul City Theatre, passed away at his home in the Gündoğan neighborhood of Bodrum due to heart failure during the night. The news of Altekin's death, who acted in 30 plays, 23 films, and nearly 20 series, saddened his relatives, loved ones, and artist friends.
HE VOICED MANY CARTOON CHARACTERS
Born in Istanbul in 1944, Sezai Altekin studied at Pertevniyal High School. He worked at the City Theatres from 1966 until his retirement. In addition to theater acting, he also worked in television, cinema, and voice acting. He collaborated on many voice acting projects with Gazanfer Özcan. He particularly voiced and brought to life the characters Barni Moloztaş, Bugs Bunny, and Şirin Baba. In the 2007-2008 season, he joined Duru Theatre as a guest actor in the play 'I Need a Picasso'. In 2014, he played the role of 'Paşa Dede' in the series 'Paşa Gönlüm' broadcasted on Kanal D, and he played the role of 'Beyefendi' in the series 'Tatar Ramazan'. Most recently, he appeared in the series 'Relationship Status: Complicated' on Show TV.
A HANDFUL OF PEOPLE ATTENDED THE FUNERAL
Following his passing, a funeral ceremony was held for actor, theater, and voice artist Sezai Altekin in Bodrum. The funeral, held at Gündoğan Cemetery, was attended by Altekin's wife Melek Altekin, daughter Duygu Altekin, Muğla Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Hüseyin Toprak, actor Tarık Papuççuoğlu, relatives, loved ones, and artist friends. The low attendance at the ceremony drew attention. After the funeral prayer held in the afternoon, permission was sought for Altekin. After the prayers, Altekin's coffin was carried to the cemetery on the shoulders of his loved ones and laid to rest.

With the support of his parents, Altekin quickly achieved success and dedicated his life to art. Voicing many characters, Altekin became one of the sought-after faces in the theater, cinema, and series industry.
