A fire broke out in the engine compartment of a metrobus at the Darülaceze-Perpa Metrobus stop in Istanbul. While the flames quickly grew, passengers inside were rapidly evacuated. The fire was extinguished by the intervention of firefighting teams.
Flames rose from the engine section of a metrobus stopped at the Darülaceze-Perpa Metrobus station in Istanbul for an as-yet-unknown reason.
PASSENGERS EVACUATED
As the fire grew, passengers were evacuated, while the driver and passengers administered first response using fire extinguishers.
Upon notification, numerous fire, health, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Police took security precautions in the area, and the fire was extinguished as a result of the intervention by firefighting teams.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
Following cooling operations, the burned metrobus was taken to the garage with the help of a tow truck. Authorities launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
