The legendary figure of Arabesque music, Ferdi Tayfur, passed away at the age of 79 in the hospital where he was receiving treatment in Antalya. Tayfur's death plunged his fans and loved ones into mourning.

5 THOUSAND PEOPLE RECEIVED LOKMA

In Adana, textile businessman Ufuk Doyuran, a fan of Ferdi Tayfur, distributed lokma to 5,000 people in memory of the artist in front of his store located in the Reşatbey neighborhood of Seyhan district. Banners featuring Tayfur's photos were hung at the sweet stall. The artist's unforgettable songs were played in the store as well.

Ufuk Doyuran, who distributed lokma, said, "Ferdi Tayfur was our artist from Adana. We grew up with his songs. Today, we distributed lokma to 5,000 people in his memory. I hope to attend his funeral as well. He was someone we loved very much. May God have mercy on him." A citizen named Handan Gergin, who received lokma, expressed her sadness upon hearing the news of Ferdi Tayfur's death and said she loved his songs very much.
