Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum stated during her daily press conference at the National Palace regarding the incident, "Unfortunately, Ximena Guzman and Jose Munoz lost their lives in an armed attack." Sheinbaum mentioned that she instructed the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) Omar Garcia Harfuch to find the attackers, stating, "Those responsible for this incident will not go unpunished and will be held accountable before justice. The investigation will be conducted thoroughly, and the government's support is complete."
Sheinbaum extended her condolences to Mexico City Mayor Brugada and the families of the deceased. Brugada, in her statement, said, "Ximena was a wonderful, tireless, and kind woman. I have known Pepe since my childhood; he was one of the smartest and most responsible people I have ever known."
