In the expert report prepared by two specialists at the request of the court, the circumstances of the accident were explained based on camera footage. The report sent to the Istanbul 8th High Criminal Court stated, "Fatıma Zehra Kınık Demir is primarily at fault for violating the traffic rules specified in Article 47/c,d, Article 57/a,b-5, Article 84/h of the Highway Traffic Law No. 2918 and Article 95/c,d, Article 109/a, Article 109/b-5, Article 157/a-8, Article 157/b of the Regulation related to the Highway Traffic Law No. 2918 as explained above." WHAT HAPPENED?

On July 9, in Kavacık Rüzgarlıbahçe, a district of Beykoz in Istanbul, Fatıma Zehra Kınık Demir attempted to exit Baki Street onto Fatih Sultan Mehmet Avenue and collided with the motorcycle driven by Yavuz Selim Öztürk. In the incident, 17-year-old Batın Barlasçeki, who was sitting at the back of the motorcycle, fell and hit his head on concrete barriers, resulting in his death. Yavuz Selim Öztürk, who was riding the motorcycle, and pedestrians Muammer Kızıl and İbrahim Ethem Üstünışık, who were struck by the motorcycle as it continued to slide on the sidewalk, were injured. Fatıma Zehra Kınık Demir, who was taken into custody regarding the incident, was released the next day by the court to be tried without detention. The expert report indicated that she caused the accident by failing to wait for other vehicles to pass while exiting onto the main road and was recorded as being 100% at fault. The judicial control decision regarding Kınık was also lifted at the first hearing. Kınık is facing charges of "causing death and injury by negligence," with a prison sentence of 2 to 15 years sought against her, and her trial is ongoing at the Istanbul Anadolu Courthouse 8th High Criminal Court.
