The 40th Heavy Penal Court of Istanbul has ruled for the release of detained defendants Iraz Bayrak, Orhan Gazi Erdoğan, Mustafa Keleş, Engin Ulusoy, Gökhan Köseoğlu, Seza Büyükçulha, Ahmet Şahin, Cevat Kaya, and Hakan Aplak.

The 41st hearing of the corruption case involving 414 defendants, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, was held at the Istanbul 40th Heavy Penal Court. During the session, detained businessman Murat Kapki's brother, Serdar Kapki, continued his defense.

PROSECUTOR REQUESTED RELEASE FOR 5 PEOPLE

During the hearing, the public prosecutor requested the release of 5 detained individuals in the case. After the prosecutor's opinion, the court panel adjourned the hearing to conduct a detention review.

"WE MADE THE DECISION UNANIMOUSLY"

Announcing its decision after the recess, the court panel ruled for the release of 9 defendants. The court president said, "Since our recess is over, our next review date falls on June 18. We will conduct it on June 18, 2026; I am now reading the names of the defendants we have ordered to be released. We made the decision unanimously again."
