The Istanbul Governorship announced that legal action has been initiated against 43 fans following the Ziraat Turkey Cup quarter-final match played last night between the teams Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray.
Yesterday, the quarter-final match of the Turkish Cup ended with Galatasaray's 2-1 victory. The match was quite tense. The Istanbul Governorship announced that legal action has been initiated against 43 fans.
In a written statement made by the Istanbul Governorship, the following expressions were included:
"To the officials of the Sports Security Branch of the Istanbul Police Department, regarding the Ziraat Turkey Cup match played between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray teams at Ülker Stadium on 02.04.2025 at 20:45; the match was held with a total of 52,152 spectators passing through, with 10,030 officials present. Legal action has been taken against a total of 43 individuals, including 3 individuals caught lighting flares during the match and 1 minor, for the crime of violating Law No. 6222."
In this context; legal action has been taken against 1 individual for violating restricted areas in sports venues, 10 individuals for causing disturbances and damaging facilities in sports venues, 2 individuals for chants containing insults and curses in sports venues, 11 individuals for unauthorized entry into sports venues and unauthorized spectator provision, and 19 individuals for smuggling prohibited substances into sports venues.
