In an operation centered in Istanbul and conducted across 10 provinces against FETÖ, 17 actively serving doctors were apprehended. It was learned that the detained doctors had connections to the organization through investigations related to "Study Houses" and that they had been monitored via a messaging application used on their phones.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation, and the teams of the Istanbul Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Division carried out a new operation against FETÖ/PDY.
AN OPERATION WAS CARRIED OUT IN THE EARLY HOURS
In the operations related to the so-called "Study Dormitories" connected to the organization for the Medical Specialization Exam (TUS), an operation was conducted early this morning to capture 17 active doctors identified as having connections to FETÖ and engaging in organizational activities.
ALL 17 SUSPECTS WERE DETAINED
In simultaneous operations conducted in 10 provinces centered in Istanbul, all 17 suspects, for whom arrest warrants were issued, were captured and taken into custody. It was learned that they were being monitored through a messaging application used on the doctors' phones.
WHAT WAS FOUND IN THEIR HOMES
During the searches conducted in the homes of the doctors connected to the organization, a large number of digital materials and organizational documents were seized. The detained doctors, who are members of FETÖ, were taken to the police for questioning. Investigations regarding the suspects are ongoing.
