The Donald Trump administration sent a directive requesting the removal of all gender-specific pronouns in email signatures for federal employees. In a statement following his inauguration, President Trump had indicated that the new administration believes "there are only two genders: male and female."

In the United States, the Donald Trump administration, as an extension of its official policy stating that "there are only two genders, male and female," requested federal employees to remove all pronouns referring to "gender distinction" used in their email signatures by the end of the workday in a directive sent to employees.

According to a report by American ABC News, the Trump administration continues to dismantle "diversity, equity, and inclusion" practices in the government.

DIRECTIVES FROM THE ADMINISTRATION TO AGENCIES

According to the report, many federal agencies instructed their employees in a directive sent today to remove all gender-specific pronouns used in their emails by the end of the workday.

Accordingly, employees will not be able to use pronouns and other designations such as "he/him" for men, "she/her" for women, and "they/them" for other gender identities outside of male and female in their email signatures.

Thus, the Trump administration will effectively end the use of pronouns that are particularly used by transgender and homosexual individuals or that respect the preferences of these individuals in federal agencies.

WHAT HAPPENED?

After the inauguration ceremony on January 20, President Trump stated in his speech that the official policy of the new administration is that "there are only two genders, male and female," and expressed that all regulations in agencies would be made accordingly.

On the same day, Trump signed an executive order to eliminate the "diversity, equity, and inclusion" practices introduced during Joe Biden's administration.
