Claims that businessman Asil Nadir has passed away have been denied. The chief physician of the hospital where he is being treated stated that Nadir is still receiving treatment in the intensive care unit. Meanwhile, his family has made an urgent call for blood donations for Nadir.
In the 1980s, the famous businessman Asil Nadir, who was among the richest in England, was recently hospitalized at the Colon Hospital due to respiratory issues. It was claimed that Nadir passed away at the hospital where he was being treated. This claim was denied by the hospital's chief physician, Op. Dr. Celal Bölükbaşı. Bölükbaşı stated that Nadir's treatment was ongoing in the intensive care unit.

Meanwhile, an urgent call for blood donation was made for Asil Nadir, who is undergoing treatment at the hospital. In a statement made by Nadir's wife's assistant, it was announced that 3 units of 0 negative blood and 7 units of fresh frozen plasma were being sought for Nadir. The statement, which indicated that Asil Nadir's treatment was ongoing in the intensive care unit, said, "Do not hold back your prayers."
WHO IS ASIL NADIR?
Asil Nadir was born in 1941 in Lefke, Cyprus. When his family moved to London in 1961, Asil Nadir was a student at Istanbul University Faculty of Economics. He dropped out of school and entered the business world. He purchased the London-based Wear Well clothing company.
On May 1985, he opened the Vestel Electronics company in Manisa with a ceremony attended by Turgut Özal. In 1988, Nadir opened the first Pizza Hut branch in Turkey at Ataköy Galeria, and upon the recommendation of then-President Turgut Özal, he entered the media business by purchasing the Günaydın newspaper from Haldun Simavi for 44 million Turkish liras and 5 million pounds. He later acquired the Güneş and Tan newspapers as well as the Nokta magazine. During these years, Nadir also purchased some media outlets in the TRNC. In 1990, he was listed as the 36th richest or, according to some sources, the 11th richest in the rich list published by the British Sunday Times.
Nadir was known in England as the 'Turk richer than the Queen' and in Turkey as 'Özal's prince'. His name became more widely known in Turkey after he purchased the Günaydın newspaper in 1988. Nadir, who had many investments in Turkey, went to the TRNC in 1993 after his companies went bankrupt. He returned to England in 2010. In 2013, he was sent to Turkey to serve the remaining 5 years of his sentence.
