VEERED OFF RUNWAY AND HIT VEHICLES ON THE HIGHWAY
In the first images shared on social media, the giant cargo plane was seen crossing the end of the runway onto the highway outside the airport, lying sideways in the middle of the road, with black smoke rising from its still-intact fuselage. Federal Aviation Administration officials, who informed local media, stated that the plane hit vehicles on the highway.
5 DEAD, 5 INJURED
In statements made after the accident, it was reported that 5 people lost their lives and 5 people were injured as a result of the crash. It was stated that the injured were taken to hospitals.
ALL FLIGHTS AT THE AIRPORT HALTED
Meanwhile, due to the accident, all runways and taxiways at Miami International Airport were temporarily closed. While flights experienced serious disruptions, it was reported that approximately 250 flights were delayed.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
While the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) launched an investigation into the accident, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) also joined the examination. The investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
