Following the death of a patient after the administration of a yellow serum in Afyonkarahisar, a precautionary seizure decision was made regarding the assets of the clinic owner doctor. The Ministry of Health also sealed the private polyclinic, terminating its operations.
The doctor who owns the clinic where the yellow serum tragedy occurred in Afyonkarahisar has had his assets seized.
Last month in Afyonkarahisar, a private clinic where one person died after receiving the yellow serum was sealed by the Provincial Health Directorate teams following a decision by the Ministry of Health.
On January 13 in Afyonkarahisar, Mehmet Gündoğan (38), a father of two who owns a company in the furniture sector and was preparing for a pilgrimage, visited the clinic with flu symptoms.
YELLOW SERUM CLAIMED A LIFE
Gündoğan was administered the yellow serum without any tests being conducted. However, as the serum was nearing its end, Gündoğan reported difficulty breathing and collapsed. He was taken to Afyonkarahisar State Hospital by ambulance but unfortunately could not be saved despite the interventions.
MINISTRY TOOK ACTION
After reviewing the complaints, the Ministry of Health decided to close the clinic in question. Following this decision, the Provincial Health Directorate teams sealed the clinic's door, terminating its operations.
In a statement from the Afyonkarahisar Governorship, it was said, "The activities of the private practice owned by S.E. in the Selçuklu neighborhood of the city center have been suspended by the decision of the Ministry of Health. The Ministry of Health, the Afyonkarahisar Governorship, and the Provincial Health Directorate are still conducting necessary investigations regarding the death of Mehmet Gündoğan in relation to the said practice and physician."
SEIZURE DECISION ON THE CLINIC OWNER'S ASSETS
After the investigations following the incident that resulted in the death of a citizen who accepted the yellow serum application, the Afyonkarahisar Consumer Court decided to impose a precautionary seizure on the assets of Doctor S.E.
