The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the unauthorized access to the systems of Getir and BiTaksi, with allegations that personal data belonging to a large number of users has been compromised. In a statement from Getir, it was noted that the incident occurred in 2023 and that the legal process is still ongoing.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Cyber Crimes Investigation Bureau, has launched an investigation into the unauthorized access to the systems of Getir and BiTaksi, and the allegation that personal data belonging to many users has been compromised.
STATEMENT FROM GETIR
Following the investigation, a statement was made by Getir. The statement said, "Today, there are news in the media and social media regarding information security that mentions Getir, which is related to an incident that occurred in 2023 and was transparently shared with the public and our users at that time."
"LEGAL PROCESS CONTINUES"
As Getir, we immediately shared the situation with both the judicial authorities and the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) right after the incident two years ago, and we have completed all our official applications without any deficiencies. The legal process regarding the incident is still ongoing.
We would like to remind the public that we have a great sensitivity regarding the confidentiality and security of personal data, and we announce that we will continue to show the necessary care regarding data privacy," the statement included.
