COMPETITION AUTHORITY INITIATES INVESTIGATION AGAINST COCA COLA

The Competition Authority has taken action regarding Coca Cola. The Authority, which conducted a preliminary investigation related to the company, has initiated an investigation to determine whether the Law No. 4054 has been violated.

ALLEGATION OF "OBSTRUCTING COMPETITORS' ACTIVITIES"

It was noted in the preliminary investigation that there are suspicions that Coca-Cola engaged in activities aimed at obstructing and complicating the sales of its competitors at sales points that purchase products from it. It was stated that there might be efforts to exclude Coca Cola's competitors in the non-alcoholic beverage sector, both carbonated and non-carbonated.

Whether Coca-Cola has complied with the commitments it submitted to the Competition Authority in 2021 will also be revealed at the end of the investigation. The company operates in the Turkish market with many brands such as Coca-Cola, Fanta, Schweppes, Sprite, Cappy, Fuse Tea, Monster, Burn, Predator, Powerade, and Damla.
