IRAN'S URGENT REQUEST FOR UNSC MEETING
According to Iran's official news agency IRNA, Iran's Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) condemned Israel's "attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities and assassinations of military officials" in an emergency letter sent to the UNSC. Iran's Permanent Mission to the UN called for an urgent meeting of the UNSC to hold Israel accountable for these attacks.
ISRAEL'S ATTACKS TARGETING MANY CITIES IN IRAN
In the early morning, Israel launched attacks on Iran's capital Tehran, the Natanz Nuclear Facility in Tabriz, Isfahan, and the cities of Lorestan, Kermanshah, Shiraz, Khuzestan, Hamadan, and Qom. It was reported that there was no leakage at the nuclear facility in Natanz.
In the attacks, several high-ranking military officials, including Iranian Chief of General Staff General Mohammad Bagheri, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps General Hossein Salami, Commander of the Hatemul Enbiya Central Headquarters Gholamali Rashid, and Commander of the IRGC Air and Space Forces Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, along with 6 nuclear scientists, lost their lives.
It was reported that during Israel's attacks in Tehran, civilian residential areas were also hit, resulting in the deaths of many civilians, including women and children.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that they were conducting attacks on Iran and said that the attacks would continue "until the danger is eliminated." The Israeli army announced that more than 200 fighter jets participated in the attacks, and it was noted that drones were also used.
