The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that the only condition for reopening the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic is the cessation of US military interventions in the strait and respect for the sovereignty of coastal states over their territorial waters.
The Fars News Agency published a statement from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The statement said that the only condition for reopening the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic is for the US military to cease its interventions in the strait and for coastal states to respect their sovereignty over their territorial waters.
The statement also alleged that, as part of the fifth phase of retaliation against US attacks, US military facilities and infrastructure in the Jufair area of Bahrain, the FPS long-range air radar and naval target detection radar in Oman, were targeted and destroyed by missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The statement warned that if US interventions in the Strait of Hormuz continue, larger developments could occur that would affect global oil and natural gas markets.
US HAD LAUNCHED ATTACKS
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) had announced that it launched new attacks after midnight to "degrade Iran's capability to attack commercial vessels" in the Strait of Hormuz.
Following this statement, explosions were reported in the Iranian cities of Bandar Abbas, Sirik, and Jask, as well as on Qeshm Island.
In response to the US attacks, the Iranian military announced that it had launched large-scale missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks targeting "enemy bases" in the region.
