It remains unclear whether the negotiation table between the US and Iran will be reestablished, as Tehran has presented Washington with 5 conditions. An Iranian official stated that his country "will not enter the second round of negotiations with the US without fulfilling 5 confidence-building preconditions."
While uncertainty remains over whether the negotiation table between the US and Iran will be reestablished, a striking statement came from the Tehran front.
5 CONDITIONS FOR NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE US
An Iranian official said that his country "will not enter a second round of negotiations with the US without fulfilling 5 confidence-building preconditions."
Speaking to the semi-official Fars News Agency, an unnamed official stated that the preconditions announced by Iran are "minimum confidence-building guarantees" for starting any negotiations with the US.
The Iranian official emphasized that unless the 5 preconditions, including "ending the war on all fronts, lifting sanctions, releasing blocked assets, compensating for war damages, and recognizing sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz," are accepted, Iran will not re-enter negotiations with the US.
TRUMP: WE WILL EITHER MAKE A DEAL OR THEY WILL BE OBLITERATED
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump made assessments regarding the Iran agenda at the White House before his visit to China's capital, Beijing.
Stating that Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons, Trump said, "Iranian leaders will either do the right thing, or we will finish the job." Claiming they have largely kept Iran under control, Trump stated, "We will either make a deal, or they will be obliterated. Either way, we win."
In response to a press member's question, "What is your message to President Xi regarding the Iran war?" Trump said, "We will have a long discussion about that. I think he has been behaving relatively well. If you look at the blockade, there's no problem. They get a lot of oil from that region. There's no problem."
