In this context, the targeting of an aircraft said to belong to former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei and attacks on intelligence and space centers have drawn attention.
IRAN'S LAST CARD: DOOMSDAY WEAPON
According to the news, it is stated that the Tehran government aims to completely close the Strait of Hormuz by using its last card, referred to as the 'doomsday weapon', in order to increase pressure and thus raise global oil prices.
TRUMP'S AGENDA: A TWO-SCENARIO SOLUTION
It is assessed that US President Donald Trump has two main options in response to these developments.
According to the first scenario, Washington may refrain from directly intervening in the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, allowing countries dependent on this passage to come up with their own solutions.
In the second scenario, it is stated that after the US issues an evacuation warning in the region, it could conduct large-scale airstrikes around Hormuz and target naval elements associated with Iran.
On the other hand, according to assessments, the US is not a directly affected party by the threat to the Strait of Hormuz. It is expressed that Washington has the capacity to balance prices by increasing oil production, and therefore Iran's move is more of a strategic pressure tool.
