In a statement from the Qatari Ministry of Defense, it was reported that one of the two ballistic missiles launched from Iran hit the Al-Udeid Air Base used by the United States, but there were no casualties in the attack. The Al-Udeid Air Base is known to be the largest military base of the United States in the Middle East region.
Following the attacks initiated by the US and Israel, ongoing Iranian retaliations continue, while the Qatari Ministry of Defense announced that Iran targeted the Al-Udeid Air Base used by the US with ballistic missiles.
ONE OF THE TWO MISSILES HIT
In the statement made, it was noted that one of the launched ballistic missiles was neutralized by air defense systems, while "the second missile hit the Al-Udeid Air Base, and there were no casualties in the incident," it was stated.
The statement emphasized that the Qatari Armed Forces are determined to protect the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and called on the public and everyone temporarily in the country to follow the warnings and information provided by the government.
THE LARGEST US BASE IN THE MIDDLE EAST
Hosting approximately 10,000 US soldiers and located 40 kilometers from the country's capital, Doha, the Al-Udeid Air Base is known as the largest military base of the US in the Middle East region.
US-ISRAEL ATTACKS ON IRAN
On February 28, while negotiations continued between Tehran and the Washington administration, Israel and the US launched a military attack on Iran. In response, Iran carried out attacks on targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where US bases are located, in addition to Israel. In the US-Israel attacks, Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as many high-ranking officials, were killed. The Iranian Red Crescent announced that 787 people lost their lives in the US-Israel attacks.
