After Mustafa Nedim Yamalı and Serap Yazıcı Özbudun, another Future Party MP is joining the AK Party. According to claims in the corridors, Istanbul MP İsa Mesih Şahin will join the AK Party. Şahin's badge will be personally presented by President Erdoğan.
The address of İsa Mesih Şahin, the Istanbul Deputy who resigned from the Future Party last year, has been revealed. It has been learned that Şahin, who met with President Erdoğan at Beştepe, will officially join the ranks of the AK Party at a ceremony to be held tomorrow.
CRITICAL MEETING AT BEŞTEPE
İsa Mesih Şahin, who resigned from the Future Party along with Selim Temurcu on July 19, 2025, broke his long silence. According to journalist İsmail Saymaz, Şahin held a meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex. During the meeting, Şahin's transition to the AK Party became clear.
ERDOĞAN WILL PERSONALLY PRESENT THE BADGE
According to information from political circles, tomorrow's group meeting or a special ceremony is indicated for the formalization of the transfer. Journalist Sinan Burhan stated that the AK Party badge will be presented to İsa Mesih Şahin personally by President Erdoğan. With this participation, there will also be an increase in the number of seats of the AK Party in the Parliament.
HE WAS ELECTED FROM CHP LISTS
İsa Mesih Şahin entered the Grand National Assembly of Turkey as an Istanbul Deputy from the CHP lists under the "Nation Alliance" umbrella in the elections on May 14. After the elections, Şahin joined the Future Party group but preferred to remain independent by resigning in the summer of 2025 due to disagreements with his party's policies.
WHO IS İSA MESİH ŞAHİN?
İsa Mesih Şahin was born in 1982 in Osmaniye. He completed his middle school education at Osmaniye Imam Hatip High School and his high school education at Osmaniye-Düzici Anadolu Teacher High School. He completed his university education at Marmara University Faculty of Law in 2006.
He worked as a freelance lawyer in his own law office in Kadıköy.
Between 2013 and 2015, he served as the president of Kadıköy-Kozyatağı Sports Club. He served as the secretary general of the Turkish Red Crescent Kadıköy Branch.
During his university education, he joined the AK Party Kadıköy Youth Branch in 2003. He served as the district chairman of the party in Kadıköy from 2014 to 2018. He resigned from the AK Party on November 9, 2019.
He was a member of the Founding Board of the Future Party, which was established on December 12, 2019. On January 8, 2020, he established the Istanbul Provincial Presidency of the party and served as its founding first president.
In the 2023 general elections in Turkey, he became the 7th candidate for deputy from the CHP list in the Istanbul 2nd electoral district under the Nation Alliance quota. He entered the Grand National Assembly of Turkey as a deputy in the 28th term.
He resigned from the Future Party on July 19, 2025.
