It was reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed the head of the internal security agency Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, during a meeting that the government would dismiss him this week.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met with the Director of the internal intelligence agency Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, and announced that he would present a draft decision to the government this week for Bar's dismissal. It was noted that the cabinet meeting, where Bar's dismissal will be voted on, will take place on Wednesday.

Always, but especially in such an existential war, the Prime Minister must have full confidence in the Shin Bet chief." Netanyahu expressed that he does not trust Bar and justified the decision to dismiss him with ongoing and growing distrust over time. While Netanyahu claims to trust Shin Bet, he argued that the decision to remove Bar was necessary.

Most recently, Netanyahu accused Bar of running a campaign to prevent necessary decisions from being made for reforms in the agency following the failure on October 7, 2023, while Shin Bet described the accusations as "dangerous."
CLASSIFIED FILES HAD BEEN LEAKED Meanwhile, some classified files had been leaked to the press, and investigations regarding allegations such as receiving money from Qatar, in which Netanyahu's advisors were in the dock, were being conducted by Shin Bet.
