While the repercussions of the U.S. attack on Venezuela continue, British journalist Gideon Rachman posed a question that could put Trump in a difficult position. Rachman asked what Trump's stance would be if Russia were to attack Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump, who has been threatening to carry out operations in Venezuela for months, finally did what he said. The Delta Force team, one of the most elite units of the US military, launched an attack on Venezuela's capital, Caracas, during the night. Explosions were heard in the city, and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were captured. It was learned that Maduro and his wife were taken aboard a warship and would be taken to New York for trial.
The US attack on Venezuela also left Trump facing tough questions. While discussions about the legitimacy of the operation continue, British journalist Gideon Rachman brought up the "Russia" detail. Rachman asked what Trump would do if Russia attacked Ukraine after giving the order to attack Venezuela.
Rachman said: "So what exactly will we say when China launches a special operation to seize the president of Taiwan or when Russia tries to do the same for Zelensky? Will we say you can't do that, it's illegal?"
WHAT HAPPENED?
At around 02:00 local time in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, explosions and sounds of aircraft were heard. The Venezuelan government accused the US of carrying out attacks on civilian and military facilities in various regions of the country following the explosions.
