COOL WEATHER DELAYED BLOOMING
In Dikmen Plateau, at an altitude of 1,725 meters in the Hendek district of Sakarya, the revival of nature was delayed this year due to temperatures below seasonal norms. With the arrival of June, peonies began to bloom in the higher elevations of the plateau.
Peonies, also known as "plateau flowers" in the region, attract nature enthusiasts with their layered structure and striking appearance.

Peonies, which are under threat of extinction, are protected under biodiversity conservation. Authorities impose administrative fines of 699,245 lira on individuals who pick or damage the flowers, and 3,496,767 lira on institutions and organizations.
"PICKING IS PROHIBITED"
Speaking about the peonies in Dikmen Plateau, Onur Kazın stated that the flowers are called "plateau flowers" in the region, and said, "This flower typically blooms in the higher parts of the plateau. Picking is prohibited, and there is a fine of approximately 700 thousand lira. It usually blooms during this season and remains alive for about a week."
