With the signature of President Erdoğan, a decree covering 430 bureaucrats appointed former Deputy Governor Mustafa Berat Kasımoğlu, who was involved in a knife fight in Ardahan a few months ago and was under disciplinary investigation, to the Legal Advisory Office of Yozgat Governorship.
The Decree on the Appointment of Civil Administrators, published under the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, brought about a large-scale change of duty across Turkey. In the list where a total of 430 civil administrators had their duty locations changed, the new assignment of Mustafa Berat Kasımoğlu, former Deputy Governor of Ardahan, who was involved in a judicial incident in recent months and against whom a disciplinary investigation was conducted, drew attention.
HE WAS SUSPENDED FROM DUTY
One of the most discussed names among the appointments made under the decree was Mustafa Berat Kasımoğlu. Known to have been suspended from his duty as Deputy Governor in Ardahan following an incident, with an administrative/disciplinary investigation launched against him, Kasımoğlu was appointed to the position of Legal Counsel for the Yozgat Governorate under the latest decree. The reappointment of an individual whose investigation process is ongoing to a public duty was among the most talked-about details concerning the decree.
HE CAME TO THE AGENDA WITH ALLEGATIONS OF "RAID AND STABBING"
Mustafa Berat Kasımoğlu had come to the fore in recent months with a public order incident that caused widespread repercussions. According to the allegations, while Kasımoğlu was at the residence of a married woman, a quarrel broke out when the woman's husband arrived home, and he was attacked with a knife. Following the incident, Kasımoğlu was taken to the hospital, while two individuals were taken into custody. After this scandalous allegation, the Ardahan Governorate announced that an urgent administrative disciplinary investigation had been launched against Deputy Governor Kasımoğlu.
HE DEFENDED HIMSELF BY SAYING "IT WAS A DEBT ARGUMENT"
In a statement made after the allegations against him, Mustafa Berat Kasımoğlu claimed that the events were distorted. Denying the claims that he was in intensive care, Kasımoğlu defended himself with the following words: "The incident is completely baseless. I am not in intensive care. There was just a minor debt argument. My physical integrity is intact. I left Ardahan where I was serving, but the allegations made against me do not reflect the truth."
After leaving Ardahan, Kasımoğlu remained on standby, and with the officially published appointment list of 430 people, he will now serve as a Legal Counsel within the Yozgat Governorate.
