Hafik Lake in Sivas, which experienced a significant drop in water levels due to drought in previous years, has overflowed this year thanks to above-normal snowfall and continuous rainfall. As the water level rose, the fish population in the lake also showed a remarkable increase, restoring the lake to its natural beauty.
The Hafik Lake, which had significantly decreased in water level due to drought in recent years in Sivas, has come back to life this year with the melting of heavy snow and effective rainfall. Located 41 kilometers from the city center and 2 kilometers from the Hafik district center, and declared a "Absolutely Protected Sensitive Area" by a presidential decision, Hafik Lake has overflowed with its increased water level. While the lake, which had dried up in previous years, was reunited with water, there was also a noticeable increase in the fish population in the lake. The lake, revived after the rains, was captured from the air with a drone. The fish visible on the water surface attracted the attention of nature lovers and visitors.
RAINFALL WAS EFFECTIVE
Erdoğan Yıldırım, who visited Hafik Lake, stated that it is better than its former state, saying, "It's a very beautiful place; we come with my family. This is one of the places to visit in Sivas. The rains this year have made Hafik Lake more beneficial. This is already our second visit, and it's now more beautiful than before."
THE FISH CAME BACK
A citizen visiting Hafik Lake with his family said, "We came last year too; it's more effective now compared to last year. The water was quite low. Now the lake has become very nice, full, and has turned into a very beautiful place. Before, there were no fish on the edges. Now it's filled with fish."
