Japanese Defense Minister Koizumi Shinjiro, who is in Turkey as a guest for the 36th NATO Heads of State and Government Summit, made a new post about his moments eating fish bread along the coast of the Bosphorus. Posting a video on his social media account, Minister Koizumi stated that he felt the warmth of the Turkish people and shared his mackerel sandwich experience with his followers.
Japan's Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi, who came to Türkiye as an invited guest for the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government, made another post about the moments he ate fish bread.
THIS TIME HE SHARED A VIDEO
Minister Koizumi shared a video on his account on the social media platform of the US-based company X, from the fish bread boat he visited on the Istanbul coast.
In his post, Koizumi stated that he had an intense four days in Türkiye as part of the summit, and reported that he experienced "a special flavor of Turkish cuisine, mackerel sandwich" in Istanbul.
Referring to the coastal trip, Koizumi said, "It was a moment when I truly felt the warmth of the Turkish people," and also narrated the storyline in writing in the video he shared.
"A DELICIOUS SMELL EMANATES FROM THE STAND"
The Japanese Minister reported that, with the advice and guidance of Colonel Saito, the Japan Defense Ministry Attaché stationed in Türkiye for one year, he experienced foreign local dishes for the first time in Türkiye.
Koizumi used the expressions, "We are making use of the time between flights. A popular shop loved by locals, carrying the scent of the sea breeze. Derya Balık Ekmek. A delicious mackerel smell emanates from the mobile food stand anchored in the distance."
HE FOUND THE AMOUNT "INCREDIBLE"
Koizumi, who ordered a "Half Fish Sandwich" with plenty of onions and described the amount inside as "incredible," noted that he was warmly welcomed by both the business staff and other customers.
Koizumi used the expression, "I had the opportunity to experience Turkish food culture with (Japan) Defense Ministry staff. It was a moment of pure happiness. Thanks to Colonel Saito for his guidance."
