After leaving Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp, who has not managed a team since, made a surprising move. The German coach is returning to television screens after a 15-year hiatus.
While the future of Jürgen Klopp, who concluded his adventure with Liverpool, is being wondered, the new destination of the world-famous coach has been revealed. Deutsche Telekom's digital platform MagentaTV announced that Klopp will serve as a commentator during the 2026 World Cup. The statement was made to kicker magazine by Rodrigo Diehl, a member of the Deutsche Telekom board of directors.
RETURNING TO SCREEN AFTER 15 YEARS
Klopp is no stranger to the television world. Between 2005 and 2008, he analyzed the 2006 World Cup and the 2008 European Championship alongside Johannes B. Kerner and referee expert Urs Meier on ZDF. He also appeared as a specialist commentator on RTL during the 2010 World Cup. After that, he completely focused on his coaching career, but now he will return to commentary after 15 years.
WILL BE ON SCREEN DURING THE WORLD CUP
As part of the agreement with Red Bull's Global Football President, a collaboration has been established with Deutsche Telekom, and Klopp will evaluate the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly organized by the USA, Canada, and Mexico, on MagentaTV.
MADE HEADLINES IN GERMANY
Jürgen Klopp's decision to take a break from coaching and return to commentary has generated significant interest in the football community worldwide, especially in Germany. Whether Klopp will coach a team again in the future remains uncertain for now.
