Yesterday, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç and Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu at the Presidential Dolmabahçe Office. During the meeting, President Erdoğan received information regarding the investigation into the "newborn gang" that caused the deaths of babies by keeping them in intensive care for money. Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç also answered questions from journalists today in Karabük. Speaking about the "newborn gang" investigation, Minister Tunç stated, "The Republic of Turkey does not allow baby deaths in both public and private hospitals." Tunç added, "Yesterday, our President received us along with our Health Minister. He conveyed the determination to do whatever is necessary if there is a situation that causes the death of babies." "NO ONE CAN THREATEN JUDICIAL MEMBERS"Minister Tunç's statements are as follows; (Regarding the newborn gang investigation) "As a result of approximately one year of research and investigation regarding the identified crime records and offenses, 47 people were detained within the scope of the investigation. A total of 22 people were arrested. Judicial Control measures were issued for 25 individuals. There was a threat situation regarding the prosecutor conducting the investigation. A separate investigation has been initiated regarding that. No one can threaten judicial members. The court is currently evaluating the indictment. After that, the allegations in the indictment will be made public regarding the individuals whose prosecution is sought. But for now, we will wait. "WE CANNOT ALLOW BABY DEATHS"As a father, I want to express this. The Republic of Turkey does not allow baby deaths in both public and private hospitals. Regardless of their titles, we will conduct both the administrative investigation to the fullest and the judiciary will carry out the necessary investigation and bring it to justice.
