In the discussion regarding the fire disaster that claimed the lives of 78 people, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel claimed that Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç did not answer his calls. Tunç made a statement explaining why he did not respond to Özel's phone calls, saying, "Yes, he called this time, but I did not answer. I deliberately did not pick up the phone because I was upset with the disinformation he spread."
Discussions continue regarding the fire disaster in Bolu Kartalkaya, which resulted in the deaths of 78 people. After CHP Chairman Özgür Özel published the preliminary report prepared by the expert committee, Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç described the report as pirate.
In response to Tunç's statement, Özel said, "As soon as I heard this, I called the Minister of Interior, who had given assurances regarding the process. One of our ministers was in Malatya. The other one probably preferred not to communicate with us that day because he knew how we would react to the work he was busy with," he stated.
HE EXPLAINED WHY HE DID NOT RESPOND
In response to Özel's statements, Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç answered on the program "Equal Weight" hosted by Erdoğan Aktaş, aired on tv100. Tunç, who made statements to the guest of the program, Sinan Burhan, the General Editor of the Millet News Agency, said, "Mr. Özgür is not someone who cannot reach me. He calls me on many issues, and we discuss. He knows that we help in many matters. Yes, he called this time and could not reach me because I deliberately did not answer my phone. I was angry at the disinformation he spread," he stated.

Tunç also stated, "I saw it as a great irresponsibility to manipulate the painful event in which we lost 78 people. If he had wanted to learn the truth before sharing an unsigned pirate text that had not been submitted to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as a report and publishing a social media message, I would have enlightened him. His spreading of false information just to create confusion against the investigation and then calling me shows that he is not well-intentioned regarding this matter," he said.
