Kayapınar Municipality Co-Chair Cengiz Dündar was detained as part of a terrorism investigation. Dündar announced his detention on his social media account.
Esenyurt, Mardin, Batman, Halfeti, Tunceli, and Ovacık municipalities have been appointed trustees as part of a terrorism investigation. While another mayor has been detained due to the terrorism investigation, it has not yet been clarified whether a trustee will be appointed.
In Eskişehir, a detention order has been issued for 40 people as part of the ongoing terrorism investigation. Raids were conducted at homes in Diyarbakır as part of the investigation.
CENGİZ DÜNDAR DETAINED
According to information obtained from local sources; Co-Chair of Kayapınar Municipality, Cengiz Dündar, journalist Ahmet Sümbül, President of the Mesopotamia Women Journalists Association (MKG) Roza Metina, and teachers who are members of the Education and Science Workers' Union (Eğitim-Sen) were taken to the Anti-Terror Branch after searches conducted at their homes. It has been reported that home raids and searches are ongoing.
