After the framework law vote in the CHP, attention turned to the two "no" votes. Despite General Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's statement that "we will give unwavering support" to the regulation, 2 rejection votes came from the CHP ranks. While the vote of Istanbul Deputy İlhan Kesici, who had previously announced he would vote no, was known, it became a matter of curiosity who the second "no" vote belonged to. The absence of 14 CHP deputies from the vote also increased questions about the situation within the party.
The Framework Law, which CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu supported with the words "We will contribute without hesitation," was accepted in the TBMM General Assembly. However, it drew attention that 2 deputies from the CHP ranks voted against the outcome. Istanbul Deputy İlhan Kesici, who had previously announced he would vote no, was known. Now attention has turned to the second CHP deputy who voted "no" besides Kesici.
KILIÇDAROĞLU HAD DECLARED SUPPORT
The Law Proposal on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration, prepared as the legal basis for the "Terror-Free Turkey" process, became law with the vote in the General Assembly of the Parliament.
CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had taken a clear stance on the regulation before the vote, stating, "We will contribute to this process without hesitation."
However, after the vote, it emerged that not all of the CHP group voted in the same direction.
İLHAN KESİCİ ANNOUNCED HE WOULD VOTE "NO" IN ADVANCE
CHP Istanbul Deputy İlhan Kesici had announced, in a statement made one day before the vote, that he would take a position different from the party management's stance.
Kesici had clearly declared he would vote no for the Framework Law, saying "The color of my vote: No." Thus, he became the first deputy from within the CHP to publicly announce opposition to the regulation.
ATTENTION ON THE SECOND CHP MEMBER WHO SAID "NO"
After the vote, 2 no votes emerging from the CHP ranks brought the question "Who said no besides İlhan Kesici?" to the agenda.
While it was known in advance that Kesici would vote no, it drew attention that the second CHP deputy did not publicly announce before the vote that they would vote no.
It would not be right to name the second person before it is officially confirmed. Once the name-based results in the TBMM's open voting record are finalized, this name will clearly emerge.
14 DEPUTIES DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE VOTE IN CHP
The no votes were not the only detail that drew attention regarding the CHP in the vote. 14 CHP deputies also did not participate in the vote.
