DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları drew attention to the importance of the National Security Council (MGK) preparing its report on the 'framework law' adopted in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) General Assembly and publishing it in the Official Gazette, stating, 'For the law to take effect, it is as important and vital as the enactment of the law itself that the council is formed as soon as possible, the MGK prepares its report and publishes it in the Official Gazette, thus bringing it into force.' DEM Party Imrali Committee member and TBMM Deputy Speaker Pervin Buldan also said, 'Our work is long, our path is long.'
Pervin Buldan, member of the DEM Party's Imrali Delegation and Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları, and DEM Party Antalya Deputy Hakkı Saruhan Oluç made their initial assessments regarding the 'Law Proposal on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration,' known publicly as the 'framework law,' which was accepted in the TBMM General Assembly.
HATIMOĞULLARI: WE EXPECT STRONGER STEPS IN THE FIRST DAYS THE PARLIAMENT OPENS
In her assessment, Hatimoğulları said, "I wish the framework law to be beneficial for all of Turkey and for Turkey's peace. Of course, very important debates took place in the General Assembly today. Many segments naturally expressed their concerns. We also consider this law to form a framework and serve as a first step towards establishing peace on these lands in the coming period. For this reason, we strongly supported this law."
Drawing attention to the importance of the concrete steps to be taken after the law, Hatimoğulları stated, "The concrete steps to be taken after this law are very important. For the law to be implemented, the formation of the commission as soon as possible, the National Security Council preparing its report and publishing it in the Official Gazette, and thus entering into force, are as important and vital as the law's passage."
Hatimoğulları stated that after the parliament opens, they expect stronger steps regarding concrete steps for Turkey's democratization and new laws, saying, "From now on, we expect stronger steps in the first days the parliament opens regarding the concrete steps to be taken for Turkey's democratization and the new laws to be made."
"WE HOPE THE NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL DECISION IS NOT DELAYED"
Regarding "the possibility of the National Security Council decision being postponed for months, even to the new year," Hatimoğulları said, "We hope it does not happen. Because we have stated on every occasion that this framework law, meaning its passage, is a beginning."
Emphasizing that the implementation of the law is as important as its passage, Hatimoğulları spoke as follows:
"Therefore, it is very important that the National Security Council prepares its report as soon as possible and publishes it in the Official Gazette, and that the path for those in prisons, those in exile, and those who will lay down their arms to participate in democratic politics is rapidly opened. The longer the process takes, as we have always said, it gets infected, it gets infected... In other words, the passage of this law does not prevent the process from getting infected. Therefore, the passage of this law is extremely vital and important, but its implementation is equally vital and important. That is why it should not be delayed."
BULDAN: OUR WORK IS LONG, OUR ROAD IS LONG
Pervin Buldan, member of the DEM Party's Imrali Delegation and Deputy Speaker of the TBMM, said in her brief assessment after the acceptance of the "Framework Law," "May it be auspicious, let's say that. Our work is long, our road is long."
OLUÇ: 468 'YES' VOTES SHOW A GREAT CONSENSUS
Oluç, regarding the vote, said, "A very important result was achieved. 468 yes votes show a great consensus. Hopefully, its reflection in society will be like this as well from the parliament's perspective. We are very happy."
