The royal toilets at Sandringham Palace received great acclaim from the jury and were noted to have an "impressive factor." The toilets were awarded a "platinum plus" rating, narrowly missing the top-level "diamond" rating. Sources from the competition told The Sun that King Charles was interested in the competition and encouraged the estate in Norfolk to participate for the first time. At the awards ceremony held in Solihull, West Midlands, on Wednesday night, the work of Sandringham's toilet technician Ann Bleser was highly appreciated. The competition's director, Jane Kibble, stated, "Only two percent of toilets can achieve a 'diamond' rating, and Sandringham came very close. They participated and were informed of what they needed to reach this level. The estate team did their homework well; they successfully met criteria such as low-level sinks, low-level toilets, and plants. It definitely had an impressive appearance." In the annual competition, inspectors evaluate toilets based on 100 different criteria. This year, 425 facilities, including Sandringham, received a "platinum plus" rating out of 1,800 participants. The overall winner of the competition was The Centre shopping mall in West Lothian, Scotland. Kibble added, "The assessment is done from the user's perspective." Sandringham's toilets had previously received praise in online reviews. Tina Hornagold wrote, "My daughter said she felt like a member of the royal family while using these toilets because they are so stylish." Alison Jackson commented, "Magnificent - the only toilet I've ever taken a picture of in my life! It's really beautiful."
