In Adana, Arif T. (56), who stabbed his ex-wife Ayşe Katırcı (52), whom he divorced about 10 years ago, 8 times in her home, was caught at the place he fled to after the incident. It was learned that Katırcı, a mother of 3 children, was taken to the hospital and is in a coma, and it was revealed that 13 days before the attack, she had asked for help by saying her ex-husband threatened her with death by saying, "I bought a grave site."
The incident occurred yesterday in Serinevler Neighborhood, in the central district of Yüreğir. According to the allegations, Arif T., her ex-husband from whom she divorced about 10 years ago, came to Ayşe Katırcı's home. The suspect, who attacked Katırcı with a knife in his hand, stabbed the woman 8 times. While Katırcı was seriously injured, the suspect fled the scene. Upon the report, health and police teams were dispatched to the area. Katırcı, who received first aid at the scene, was taken to Balcalı Hospital by ambulance. It was learned that Katırcı, who was taken to intensive care, is in critical condition and in a coma.
"HE WALKED CALMLY AFTER THE ATTACK" On the other hand, the moments when Arif T., who fled after the attack, walked calmly on the street were captured on security cameras. As a result of the investigation initiated by police teams, the suspect was caught and detained in the Pozantı district.
"SHE HAD ASKED FOR HELP 13 DAYS AGO" It was revealed that Ayşe Katırcı had asked for help 13 days before the attack, stating that she was threatened by her ex-husband. In her statement, Katırcı had said that her ex-husband had previously sent her a burial shroud and had most recently threatened her by saying, "I bought you a grave site."
Katırcı, who claimed that she was subjected to violence by her ex-husband, with whom she remained married for about 25 years, throughout the marriage, had said, "He beat me on the fourth day of our marriage. He beat me even when I was pregnant. When he drank alcohol, he would hit me with whatever he could get his hands on unconsciously. Throughout our marriage, I walked around with a bruised eye."
Stating that the threats continued after the divorce, Katırcı had stated that she had obtained 8 restraining orders against her ex-husband to date.
"HE MIGHT THROW ACID ON MY FACE" Katırcı, who claimed that her ex-husband threatened her with death, had said, "He had sent me a burial shroud set before. Now he is threatening me by saying, 'I will buy you a cemetery.' He comes and pulls out a gun, pulls out a knife. I constantly receive threats. He constantly applies psychological pressure. He says, 'I will make it so you cannot go outside.' He might throw acid on my face; I don't know what he will do."
Explaining that she could not leave the house due to the fear she experienced, Katırcı had asked for help, saying, "I cannot leave the house; my psychology has deteriorated. I constantly file complaints, but he is released every time. I want legal action to be taken now. My only wish is justice."
THE HOUSE OWNER DESCRIBED THE MOMENTS OF HORROR Menevşe Boybey, 74, who was at home during the attack, described what happened. Boybey said, "While I was sitting at home, he suddenly came in. He started hitting Ayşe with a knife in his hand. I ran outside to ask for help. I shouted from the balcony, 'Help!' The neighbors called for help. The man fled. The ambulance and police arrived."
"I DIDN'T EXPECT IT WOULD GO THIS FAR" Ayşe Katırcı's 32-year-old daughter, Cennet Terkeşli, said that her mother had been beaten and threatened by her father many times before. Terkeşli said, "My father had beaten and threatened my mother many times before. I didn't think he would go this far. But my father did this too. My mother constantly filed complaints against my father, but the situation is obvious."
