Aydın Köşk Mayor Nuri Güler, who is alleged to have had a relationship with a woman he hired at the municipality, announced today that he has resigned following his referral to the AK Party Central Disciplinary Board. In his statement, Güler said, "I believe that it should not cast a shadow on the institutional identity and work of my party. Therefore, in order to ensure that the ongoing process does not harm the party and the cause to which I am proudly attached, I have made the decision to resign from my party membership with a sense of responsibility."
The Mayor of Köşk district, Nuri Güler, announced his resignation from the AK Party following various "forbidden love" news reports that emerged on local news sites about him.
In his written statement, Mayor Güler included the following remarks:
"Recently, it has become necessary to make a statement regarding the false news in the media that are defamatory in nature about me. A legal process has been initiated by me to uncover this conspiracy and to enlighten the public. Unfortunately, a planned and organized political assassination attempt is being carried out against both myself and the party I belong to, by associating me with different issues on the national agenda through social media by certain circles. These allegations have reached dimensions that challenge the limits of reason and common sense. The fundamental principle of politics and public duties is to serve the nation. In line with this understanding, I believe that the legal process I am conducting regarding the slanders directed at me should not cast a shadow on the institutional identity and activities of my party until it is completed. Therefore, in order to prevent the ongoing process from harming the party and the cause to which I am deeply committed, I have made the decision to resign from my party membership with a sense of responsibility. This decision does not mean that I have given up my struggle and the values I believe in.
"MY LOYALTY TO OUR AK PARTY WILL CONTINUE UNCHANGED" Just as it has been until today, my loyalty to our General President and Leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and our AK Party will continue unchanged. Since the day I took office, I have been striving to serve our beloved Köşk and our valuable fellow citizens in the best way possible. From now on, we will continue our services with the same sense of responsibility. With God's permission, it will be revealed that these slanders, of which I have never been a part and in which I have never participated, have no relation to reality. I respectfully announce to the public that I have temporarily resigned from my party, of which I have always been wholeheartedly committed and of which I am proud to be a member and a soldier, until the legal process is concluded. I sincerely thank my valuable fellow citizens who have not withheld their support during this process, the members of the organization with whom I walk together, and all my comrades in the cause."
The image claimed by Nuri Güler to be an artificial intelligence product HE WAS REFERRED TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION On the other hand; in a statement made yesterday by AK Party sources, it was noted that Güler was referred to the Central Disciplinary Board as a precautionary measure in accordance with the party's bylaws and that a definitive expulsion request had been made against him.
