CONTROVERSIAL STATEMENTS

STRONG REACTION FROM ALEVI INSTITUTIONS
Alevi associations and foundations, along with many Alevi citizens, described the statements as "baseless, hurtful, and targeting." Representatives of Alevi institutions emphasized that such a ritual has no counterpart in the Alevi faith.
APOLOGIZED ON LIVE BROADCAST
Following the backlash, Kübra Par made a statement on live tv100, apologizing. Par acknowledged that her statements were incorrect and said that her words exceeded their intended purpose.
"I MADE A BASELESS GENERALIZATION"
In her statement, Par said, "While discussing the issue of drinking at Kamer Genç's grave, I used a phrase based on hearsay about such a ritual existing in some belief groups. Unfortunately, my words exceeded their purpose. It was not right for me to make such a baseless generalization. My intention was not to hurt our Alevi citizens. I apologize to all Alevi citizens I have offended."
