Just before the start of the new academic year at universities, the monthly fees for dormitories under the Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) of the Ministry of Youth and Sports were increased by 23.3%. With this regulation, students' monthly dormitory expenses increased by 300 TL, and the new tariff will be valid as of the new term.
Bad News for University Students: KYK Dormitory Fees Have Been Increased! Just before the start of the new academic year at universities, an important development has occurred that directly affects students' accommodation budgets. The monthly fees for dormitories under the Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) of the Ministry of Youth and Sports have been raised.
A 300 TRY INCREASE
With the new regulation, the dormitory fee, previously paid at 1,290 TRY per month, has been increased to 1,590 TRY. Thus, there has been a monthly increase of 300 TRY in the accommodation costs of university students.
THE INCREASE RATE IS 23.3 PERCENT
This price increase, applied before the new term, means an increase of approximately 23.3 percent in proportional terms. University students will make their accommodation payments at the increased rate as of the new academic term.
