"THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ MUST BE OPENED"
In a statement regarding the conversation, Macron said: "I spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
I told him that the safety of Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris, who are currently at the French embassy, and their return to France is our absolute priority. I emphasized that Iran must immediately stop its attacks on countries in the region.
Iran must also guarantee freedom of navigation by ending the de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Finally, I reiterated our deep concerns regarding the development of Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs and all destabilizing activities in the region; these are at the heart of the current crisis.

FRANCE SENT HELICOPTER CARRIER TO THE MEDITERRANEAN
On the other hand, it was reported that France has deployed an amphibious helicopter carrier to the Mediterranean amid the ongoing high tensions in the Middle East due to US and Israeli attacks on Iran and Iran's retaliations.
According to reports based on statements from the French General Staff, the helicopter carrier named "Tonnerre" was also deployed to the Mediterranean "to strengthen the capabilities of the French armed forces in the context of the ongoing crisis in the Middle East."
CHARLES DE GAULLE ALSO IN THE AREA
Meanwhile, the French flagship Charles de Gaulle, to which French President Emmanuel Macron ordered to move to the Mediterranean on March 3, has also reached the region.
AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM TO SOUTH CYPRUS
Macron had stated that he ordered the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and the accompanying frigate to head towards the Mediterranean in the face of uncertainty in the Middle East.
Additionally, Macron announced that he had decided to send the French frigate Languedoc and accompanying air defense elements to the Greek Cypriot Administration (GCA).
