French President Emmanuel Macron made striking statements regarding the US's plan for the Strait of Hormuz. Macron explicitly stated that they would not participate in any operation involving the use of force.

"FREEDOM OF NAVIGATION MUST BE ENSURED"

Speaking before the European Political Community Summit held in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, Macron addressed the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz. Emphasizing the importance of reopening the strait, Macron said this process should be carried out in coordination between Iran and the US.

"WE OPPOSE MILITARY INTERVENTION"

Macron recalled that a conference on freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz was held in Paris on April 17, noting that a blockade on the strait was declared in the US on the same day. Expressing that the US's readiness to reopen the strait was positive, Macron stated, "However, we will not participate in any operation carried out using force within an unclear framework."

Macron emphasized that the only way to ensure the Strait of Hormuz remains permanently open is international cooperation, adding that freedom of navigation must be provided without any restrictions or fees.
