TO BE HELD IN ISTANBUL
The first meeting of the Strategic Political and Defense Committee, composed of the foreign ministers, defense ministers, and chiefs of general staff of the three countries, which is envisaged to be established to provide strategic direction to the activities carried out under the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, will be held tomorrow in Istanbul, hosted by Turkey. It is planned that the meeting will address international security issues on the agenda, as well as topics such as developing defense capabilities, promoting increased interoperability among the armed forces of the three countries in this context, deepening cooperation in the defense industry including joint production and research and development, and strengthening joint efforts in the fight against terrorism.
HAKAN FIDAN WILL ALSO ATTEND THE MEETING
According to information obtained from sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is envisaged that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, Chief of General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistani Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistani Chief of Army Staff Marshal Asim Munir, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, Saudi Arabian Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman, and Saudi Arabian Chief of General Staff General Fayyadh Bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili will attend the meeting.
