Residents living in the site and the neighborhood head filed a complaint with the gendarmerie regarding the dogs that were allegedly poisoned. Binnur Aykut, the neighborhood head of Hacılar, who resides in the site where the dogs were killed, stated, "We have been feeding the dogs for years. I have never seen them attack anyone. They all had collars. We requested that the security cameras be checked to identify the individuals who killed the dogs. There were people in the site who did not want the dogs. We filed a complaint regarding the deaths," she said. "ONE OF THEM WAS A CANCER PATIENT"Site resident Feray Türközü also said, "The death of the dogs is happening in the lower section of the site. One of the dogs had an owner and was microchipped. Families living in the site have been feeding the dogs for years. In fact, one of them was a cancer patient, and the treatment was covered by the residents of the site. We wanted to check the camera footage regarding the dogs' deaths, but there is none. The gendarmerie comes but leaves without doing anything. This morning we received news of 4 more dogs' deaths. They had been with us for years, and they posed no harm to anyone," she stated.
