On the show "Hayatım Yalan," Mehmet Ali Erbil burst into tears and said, "I had a mother and father, but they weren't there; I did to you all the spoiled things I couldn't do to them. If I made you angry, blame my childhood."

Famous actor and showman Mehmet Ali Erbil, known for the competition programs he appeared on television screens, became a trending topic with the emotional moments he experienced on stage. Mehmet Ali Erbil met with his audience in his one-man show titled “My Life Is a Lie.”

HE EXPERIENCED EMOTIONAL MOMENTS ON STAGE

Erbil, who was much talked about for not attending his mother’s funeral after she passed away last April, made candid statements about his childhood. The famous showman, who explained the relationship he has built with his audience for years through what he could not experience in his childhood, experienced emotional moments on stage.

“I HAD A MOTHER AND FATHER, BUT THEY WEREN’T THERE”

Speaking in tears, Erbil said, “Children supposedly direct their mischief at their parents. I had a mother and father, but they weren’t there. I directed at you the mischief I could not direct at them. If I made you angry, blame my childhood.”

HE HAD SAID, “I HAVEN’T SEEN HER FOR 2 YEARS”

In a live broadcast he previously did on a social media platform, Erbil said about his mother, “I hadn’t seen my mother for two years. We had problems at a young age, at an early age because there was a stepfather in between... But still, in good conscience, as a son, I did everything I could, materially and morally, until the last day.”

HE DID NOT ATTEND HIS MOTHER’S FUNERAL

Erbil, who did not attend the funeral of his mother Yurdagül Eken, who died in April 2026 due to health problems related to old age, explained the reason months later on a program he appeared on.

“IT DIDN’T COME FROM MY HEART”

Using the words “I have forgiven my mother,” Erbil said, “I couldn’t go to the funeral. It didn’t come from my heart. It remained a regret, from my childhood to today... And I still fulfilled my duties as a son to the end. I arranged a pension for her; I even arranged a pension for that stepfather. For the man who made me suffer so much.”
