The decision document of the peace criminal court stated that some suspects, including football players Metehan Baltacı and Mert Hakan Yandaş, who were arrested as part of the "betting in football" investigation, were found to have placed bets. It was noted that Yandaş engaged in actions aimed at influencing match results, while Baltacı placed bets on 27 matches during the period he was a player at Galatasaray.
The investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has reached the decision document of the peace criminal courts regarding some of the arrested suspects.
In the decision document of the Istanbul 10th Peace Criminal Court, it was stated that the suspects Mert Hakan Yandaş, Ersen Dikmen, Kerem Yusuf Sirkeci, and Emircan Çiçek were requested to be arrested for the crime of "match-fixing" regulated in the Law No. 6222 on the Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sports.
4 MILLION 453 THOUSAND TL MONEY TRANSFER
It was noted in the law enforcement records, MASAK reports, digital material examination, and the entire file that suspect Mert Hakan Yandaş transferred a total of 4 million 453 thousand 62 lira to suspect Ersen Dikmen between December 2021 and October 2025. The decision document stated that suspect Dikmen sent the amounts received from Yandaş to legal betting sites in a short time, and it was reported that Dikmen transferred a total of 2 million 60 thousand 974 lira to suspect Yandaş.
MANY BETTING COUPONS INCLUDING FENERBAHÇE MATCHES
The decision indicated that after December 2021, when suspect Dikmen started receiving money transfers from suspect Yandaş, there were numerous betting coupons, including football matches of Fenerbahçe Sports Club, through legal betting sites.
"YANDAŞ ENGAGED IN ACTIONS TO INFLUENCE MATCH RESULTS"
In the decision document regarding the digital material examination of suspect Yandaş, it was determined that there were coupon visuals indicating that bets were placed on the Fenerbahçe football team, of which the suspect was a player, thus recording that suspect Yandaş engaged in actions to influence match results by placing bets independently of the football team he played for through suspect Ersen Dikmen.
KEREM YUSUF SİRKECİ PLACED BETS ON KARAGÜMRÜK MATCHES
The decision document stated that suspect Kerem Yusuf Sirkeci was an active football player at Fatih Karagümrük AŞ, and it was noted that he placed bets on the "Nesine" site for the Fenerbahçe-Fatih Karagümrük AŞ match played on October 19, 2025, with "over 1.5 goals" and for the Samsunspor-Fatih Karagümrük AŞ match played in 2021 with "the opposing team wins."
It was expressed that in the digital material examinations of suspect Sirkeci, there were messages indicating that he committed the alleged crime, and that he placed individual bets to gain personal profit independently of the football team he played for, thus influencing the outcome of the match and committing the alleged crime.
EMİRCAN ÇİÇEK PLACED BETS ON PENDİKSPOR MATCHES
The document stated that suspect Emircan Çiçek was an active football player at Pendikspor AŞ, and it was understood that he had a membership on the "Nesine" site, having placed bets on the Pendikspor-Amedspor match and Erzurumspor-Pendikspor match with "the opposing team wins" during his time at Pendikspor. It was noted that in the digital material examinations, correspondence and shares indicating that he committed the alleged crime were detected, and that he influenced the outcome of the match by placing individual bets to gain personal profit independently of the football team he played for.
In the decision of the Istanbul 3rd Peace Criminal Court, it was also noted that suspects Emrah Çelik, Yunus Emre Tekoğul, Metehan Baltacı, İzzet Furkan Malak, and Bartu Kaya were referred for arrest on the grounds that they committed the alleged match-fixing crime. The document emphasized that suspect Emrah Çelik was the second president of Antalyaspor AŞ, and there were findings in the open-source research indicating that he placed bets on Antalyaspor matches during his tenure as an administrator.
It was stated in the document that suspect Yunus Emre Tekoğul had a membership on the "Misli" site, and during the dates he placed bets, he was a player in the Sakaryaspor football team. The document described that the suspect placed a bet on the Fatih Karagümrük-Sakaryaspor match on October 5, 2024, with "the opposing team wins," and in the digital material examinations, messages sent by an illegal betting site, a coupon belonging to the relevant betting site, and messages sent to members from the legal betting site "Nesine" were detected.
"METEHAN BALTACI ACCESSED ILLEGAL BETTING SITES"
The document stated that suspect Metehan Baltacı had a membership on the legal betting site "Nesine" and placed bets on 27 matches during the period he was a player at Galatasaray Sports Club, noting that the suspect placed bets with "my team wins and over 2.5 goals." It was also reported that in the examination of the suspect's digital materials, messages indicating that he placed bets and suggested coupons were detected, and it was found that he accessed illegal betting sites using a username and password.
In the findings regarding suspect İzzet Furkan Malak, it was expressed that the suspect's last SGK record was at Göztepe Spor Kulübü AŞ on August 7, but he was a football player with no active record. It was noted that the suspect had a membership on the "Nesine" site and placed a bet on the Boluspor-Göztepe match on October 6, 2023, with "under 2.5 goals." It was emphasized that in his digital materials, visuals belonging to an illegal betting site and images related to roulette were detected.
In the evaluation regarding suspect Bartu Kaya, it was stated that he played for Amed Sportif Faaliyetler AŞ, and the suspect had a membership on the legal betting site "Bilyoner." It was noted that during his time at Bornova 1877 Sportif AŞ, he placed a bet on the 1922 Konyaspor-Bornova 1877 match, but it was understood from the data received from "Bilyoner" that the specific bets he placed on the matches were not indicated.
