Message from Russia to Europe: "Peaceful sleep is over"

Message from Russia to Europe:

30.05.2026 00:20

As the war between Russia and Ukraine continues with full intensity, very harsh statements came from the Moscow front, threatening the European Union and Western leaders. While Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that they have the capability to destroy any force targeting Kaliningrad, Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev addressed Europe, saying, "Don't be surprised by anything. Peaceful sleep is over."

While the war between Russia and Ukraine continues, the European Union's (EU) support for Kiev continues to draw a reaction from the Moscow front.

PUTIN'S KALININGRAD WARNING: WE HAVE ALL THE MEANS TO DESTROY THOSE WHO ATTEMPT

Most recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on developments regarding Ukraine, reiterated that Moscow is open to negotiations. Stating that Russian troops continue to advance in Ukraine, Putin said, "I did not make my statement about the end nearing just for the sake of it; I made it by analyzing the situation on the battlefield."

Reacting to statements by European politicians that they are preparing for war with Russia, Putin said, "This is a crude, insolent lie. As Goebbels said, the more incredible the lie, the more quickly it is believed. Western politicians and the press apply exactly such standards on a daily basis."

Evaluating statements by some European politicians about a possible attack on Kaliningrad, Putin said, "They have the means to destroy Russian bases. The Russian Federation also has all the means to destroy those who attempt to do so."

“WITHOUT AN INVESTIGATION, NO ONE CAN SAY WHICH COUNTRY IT BELONGS TO"

Putin also criticized statements from European countries claiming that a drone hitting an apartment building in Romania belonged to the Russian military, saying, "Without an investigation, no one can say which country this or that drone belongs to."

Putin said that Ukrainian drones had previously been seen in Finland, Poland, and the Baltic countries. The Russian leader stated, "The first reaction was the same as in Romania: they said 'the Russians are coming.' But shortly after, it turned out it had nothing to do with Russian drones."

Putin also reacted to a statement by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who claimed that "Russia has crossed a new red line," noting that Leyen had not personally examined the drone wreckage.

MESSAGE TO EUROPE: "PEACEFUL SLEEP HAS ENDED"

Most recently, Russian Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev accused European leaders of responsibility for attacks within Russia. Arguing that EU citizens "must be careful," Medvedev said, "Citizens of EU countries, you must understand that your authorities have unilaterally entered into a war with Russia. Therefore, do not be surprised by anything. Peaceful sleep has ended. But you know whom to ask for the reason."

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Romanian Ministry of Defense announced that a Russian drone hit an apartment building in the city of Galati during the night, injuring two people. Romanian President Nicusor Dan announced that Russia's Consul General in Constanta, Andrey Kosilin, had been declared persona non grata and that a decision had been made to close the consulate.
