Supporting the demonstrators, Madonna said, "The people of Iran have not known freedom for centuries. I cannot claim to fully understand the suffering they endure, but my thoughts and prayers are with the people of Iran."

The US-based Iran Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) announced that the number of people who lost their lives in protests that started due to economic issues in Iran has risen to 2,677.

According to HRANA's report, more than 2,600 people were injured in incidents across many parts of the country, and 19,097 people were detained. In the events that occurred during the protests, 2,677 people lost their lives.
