Minister Ersoy gave the good news: Istanbul Park is on the F1 calendar until 2031

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that the Turkish Grand Prix will be included in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship calendar again starting from the 2027 season. Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak came together at the Atatürk Cultural Center to work on the Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix, which will be held again at Istanbul Park starting from 2027.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that the Turkish Grand Prix will once again be included in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship calendar starting from the 2027 season. 

FORMULA 1 EXCITEMENT IN ISTANBUL FOR 5 YEARS

Istanbul Park will host Formula 1 races until the end of the 2031 season under a five-year agreement. Minister Ersoy and Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak evaluated the preparations for the event at the Atatürk Cultural Center. The meeting addressed organizational preparations, inter-institutional coordination, promotional activities, and the steps to be taken in the coming period.

'ISTANBUL PARK WILL HOST'

Minister Ersoy made the following statements in a post on his social media account after the meeting:

"Formula 1 is back in Istanbul! Together with our Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Osman Aşkın Bak, we came together at the Atatürk Cultural Center and evaluated the preparations for the Turkish Grand Prix, which will be held again at Istanbul Park from 2027. Istanbul Park will host Formula 1 races until the end of the 2031 season under the five-year agreement made. In the meeting held with the participation of our relevant institutions and officials of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation, we discussed inter-institutional coordination, promotional efforts, and the steps to be taken in the coming period. We continue our preparations to reunite Turkey's experience in international organizations with the excitement of Formula 1."

PREPARATION PROCESS ADDRESSED IN ALL ASPECTS

The meeting was attended by Timuçin Güler, General Director of Promotion at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; Sinan Seha Türkseven, General Manager of the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency; Prof. Dr. Veli Ozan Çakır, General Director of Sports Services at the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Dr. Mehmet Ata Öztürk, President of the Sports Toto Organization; and Prof. Dr. Süleyman Şahin, General Director of Investment and Enterprises at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

At the meeting, which also included President of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation Eren Üçlertoprağı, TOSFED Secretary General Serhan Acar, and the federation's vice presidents, the efforts carried out to ensure the Turkish Grand Prix is held to the highest standards were evaluated. During the discussions, the roles to be undertaken by relevant institutions, the coordination to be ensured during the organizational process, and efforts for the national and international promotion of the Turkish Grand Prix were emphasized.

GRAND RACES TO TAKE PLACE IN ISTANBUL

Under the agreement made with Formula 1 management, the Turkish Grand Prix will once again be included in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship calendar starting from the 2027 season. Istanbul Park will host Formula 1 races between 2027 and 2031.
